The BS-VI compliant TVS Apache has revealed itself ahead of an imminent launch. A spy photograph published by RushLane captures the revised front fascia of the upcoming motorcycle. The revised front-end of the BS-VI Apache RTR 160 4V features bigger pilot lamps, along with a LED headlight setup.

The redesigned headlight mask (in a dual-tone finish) adds a refreshed look to the front fascia of the Apache RTR 160 4V. Another set of clear spy images from CarToq reveal the rest of the design, which is identical to the current (BS-IV) version. Thus, you can see a muscular fuel tank with an asymmetrically mounted filler cap, a single-piece step-up seat, a boxy exhaust design, an engine cowl and a split-style pillion grab rail. The saddle appears to feature a dual-tone finish for a premium look.

The cockpit retains the digital instrument console along with switchgear, bar-end weights, grips and levers from the current model. Apart from the regular ride-related information, the feature-rich display includes a gear position indicator and a lap timer. A single-piece handlebar will continue to perform the steering duties.

Obviously, the BS-VI compliant TVS Apache RTR 160 4V won't be available in a carburettor version. The spy images also reveal the catalytic convertor on the BS-VI compliant model. Performance numbers are not likely to change much. For reference, the current (BS-IV compliant) Apache RTR 160 4V draws 16.8 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 14.8 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm from its 159.7 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled 4-valve mill.

Hardware specifications, too, remain identical to the current model, and the Apache RTR 160 4V will continue to use petal-type disc brakes (270 mm front and 200 mm rear) to perform the anchoring tasks. The braking department is governed by a single-channel ABS. Shock absorption duties are performed by conventional forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the back.

The BS-VI compliant TVS Apache RTR 160 4V was spotted in a showroom-ready form and thus we expect to hear launch details very soon. The motorcycle will compete with the BS-VI Yamaha FZ-S series that is scheduled to arrive in November this year.
