It took Renault about a year to bring the facelifted
Kadjar to Australia, but the compact crossover is finally here and is available
to order. For the base Kadjar Life, the automaker is asking a minimum of AUD 29,990 (US$ 20,513). The mid-range Zen starts at AUD 32,990 (US$ 22,565) and the Intens at AUD 37,990 (US$ 25,985).
All models are powered by the new 1.3-liter,
turbocharged petrol engine co-developed with Daimler. It’s connected to a
7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission and produces 157 HP at
5,500 rpm and 260 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm in all trim levels.
Performance is quite decent, with the 0-100 km/h taking 9.6 seconds
and top speed standing at 210 km/h.
Choosing the entry-level Kadjar gets you 17-inch
alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, dusk-sensing
headlights, rain-sensing wipers, lower door protection, chrome trim and the
R-Link 2 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Zen adds
two-tone 17-inch wheels, push-button start, smart key card, two rear USB
charging ports, dark carbon leatherette and cloth upholstery and others. The
Intens rides on 19-inch wheels and features leather trim, ‘Kadjar’ front sill
plates, LED interior lights and heated front seats.
Cruise control with speed limiter, hill start
assist, emergency brake assist, distance warning, automatic emergency braking
and electronic stability control are standard across the range. The Zen and
Intens come with lane departure warning, blind spot warning and side parking
sensors, while the top-of-the-line grade also has easy park assist.
Options include the AUD 750 (US$ 513) metallic
paint and AUD 1,000 (US$ 684) fixed panoramic sunroof and auto-dimming
rearview mirror.
