Introduced in 2011, the second-generation Chrysler
300 soldiers on for yet another model year with minimal changes. The most significant update for
the 2020MYis the introduction of a new Red S Appearance Package on the 300S.
You’ll recognize it thanks to the Black Noise exterior badging, Red insert on
the Chrysler wing badge, and new 20-inch Black Noise wheels.
Customers who want to take things further can also
opt for the optional Radar Red interior that is available with the Red S
Appearance Package that brings Radar Red leather upholstery and Radar Red
leather armrests on the doors as well.
The Radar Red interior can be combined with six
exterior paint colors: Canyon Sunset, Velvet Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Mist,
Gloss Black and Bright White. Speaking of colors, there are three new exterior
options for the 2020 Chrysler 300: Amethyst, Frostbite, and Canyon Sunset,
which will be available later in the year.
The rest of the lineup stays the same and continues
to consist of five trim levels, namely the Touring, Touring L, S, Limited and
the range-topping 300C. All come equipped as standard with an eight-speed
automatic transmission and are available with either rear- or all-wheel drive,
except for the RWD-only 300C.
The default engine is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6
that’s rated at 292 hp and 353 Nm of torque. Thanks to a
unique cold-air induction system, sport-tuned exhaust and engine calibration,
its output is increased to 300 HP and 358 Nm of torque in the 300S.
The other engine choice is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8,
which that produces 363 HP and 534 Nm of torque. Standard on the
300C and optional on the 300S, it’s good enough for a 0 to 96 km/h sprint in under 6 seconds. Sadly, the 469 hp 6.4-liter HEMI V8 sold overseas in
the 300 SRT is still not available in the United States.
