The Mazda3 has been in the market for less than a
year now but it’s set to receive a few changes to its US lineup for the 2020
model year. Mazda has added the i-Activsense safety features to the base version
of the 3 sedan, meaning you get things like Driver Attention Alert, Radar
Cruise Control with Stop and Go,Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning
with Lane-Keep Assist and High Beam Control as standard from the get-go.
The base version of the 2020 Mazda3 sedan, which is
priced from US$ 22,420 -including a US$ 920 destination and handling fee- also comes
with Automatic on/off headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers, a matte
finished front grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth seating surfaces and door
trims, power-folding door mirrors, an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen display
and a 7-inch digital gauge display.
The 2020 Mazda3 hatchback, priced from US$ 24,620
including destination and handling charges, offers Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto, keyless entry, leatherette seats and door trims, a leather steering
wheels and shift knob, automatic dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing windscreen
wipers, a black metallic front grille, a roof spoiler and 18-inch alloys as
standard.
The standard active safety equipment on the Mazda3
hatchback includes Driver Attention Alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop
and Go function, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear
Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist and High Beam
Control.
All versions of the US-spec 2020 Mazda3 models are
powered by a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G petrol engine producing 186 HP and 186 lb-ft
of torque. The powertrain also features cylinder-deactivation tech as standard
on all Mazda3 hatchbacks, Mazda3 Premium sedans and Mazda3 sedans fitted with
the optional all-wheel drive. A six-speed manual transmission is available only
on Mazda3 Premium hatchbacks with front-wheel drive.
