UK buyers in the market for the plug-in hybrid
version of Mitsubishi’s Outlander can now choose from a revised range that
boasts the following six variants: Verve, Design, Dynamic, Dynamic Safety,
Exceed and Exceed Safety.
Power continues to come from a 2.4-liter petrol
engine working alongside two electric motors, resulting in full-time four wheel
drive regardless of driving mode. Mitsubishi claims a fully-electric range of 45 km and CO2 emissions of just 46g/km.
All new Outlander PHEV models come standard with
revised seating with electric lumbar support, as well as re-contoured rear
seats for improved comfort and support. The dashboard meanwhile has new climate
controls and a larger infotainment system.
Opting for the entry-level Verve trim means spending
a minimum of £ 35,455 (US$ 44,000). In return for that you get DAB radio, heated
front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless operation, rear parking
sensors, rear spoiler, cruise control, electric folding door mirrors, LED DRLs,
headlight washers, automatic headlights and more. The Design trim comes with
18-inch alloys, plus the automaker’s new 8-inch infotainment system with Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrated reversing camera – all for £ 36,455
(US$ 45,200).
Then there’s the Dynamic trim, priced from £ 38,555
(US$ 47,800). It adds leather upholstery, an eight-way adjustable electric
driver’s seat, black headlining, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert.
The Exceed variant meanwhile comes with integrated TomTom sat-nav, diamond
quilted leather upholstery, LED headlights with LED high beam, LED fog lights,
360-degree camera, heated steering wheel, a power tailgate and twin rear USB
sockets for £ 40,955 (US$ 50,800).
As for Dynamic Safety (£ 41,055/US$ 50,900) and Exceed
Safety (£ 43,455/US$ 53,900) models, they add Forward Collision Mitigation,
Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Ultrasonic Misacceleration
mitigation System, automatic high-beam and front and rear parking sensors to
their non-Safety specs.
