Nissan has launched the 2020 GT-R lineup in
Australia, which includes the new GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition that builds on
the Premium Luxury grade.
Available from AUD 209,300 (US$ 141,568), the special
edition Godzilla comes in one of three shades: Bayside Blue and Super Silver
with white stripes, and Ivory Pearl with red stripes, a throwback to the racing
liveries of the GT-R from the 1971 Japan Grand Prix. Further highlighting its
special stance are the ‘50th Anniversary’ badges applied on the boot lid and
alloy wheels.
The interior design of the car pays homage to the
past as well, with the ‘50th Anniversary’ badging applied to the seats, center
console, tachometer and kick plates. There’s a new two-tone leather trim as
well, called Cool Grey, an exclusive feature for the model, which can be found
on the seats, dashboard panel, door panels, steering wheel and gear shifter.
The offering is completed by the carbon fiber trim, infotainment system,
dual-zone climate control and other equipment.
The rest of the 2020 GT-R range has been slightly
updated, with redesigned front fog lamps, blue exhaust tips and new wheels. A
series of mechanical upgrades have been applied as well, such as the updated turbochargers,
tweaked electronically controlled suspension, improved steering angle and new
brake booster. The output of the 3.8-liter V6 has remained unchanged, producing 570 PS and 632 Nm of torque.
With a price of AUD 193,800 (US$ 131,084), the
2020 GT R Premium is the most affordable member of the family, followed by the
GT-R Premium Luxury, at AUD 199,800 (US$ 135,142). The GT-R Track Edition
comes in at AUD 235,000 (US$ 158,951) and the top-of-the-line GT-R Track Edition
with optional Nismo interior costs AUD 247,000 (US$ 167,068).
