David Brown Automotive isn’t attending the 2019
Frankfurt Motor Show, but it has unveiled the new Mini Remastered Oselli
Edition just as the event is about to kick off. Created in partnership with
classic car specialist Oselli, the new hot variant of the Mini Remastered
celebrates the 60th anniversary of the iconic hatchback. It will be offered in
a limited production run of 60 cars.
Pre-orders are open and the high-performance Mini
Remastered Oselli Edition can be had with seating for four or for two. The
former starts at £ 98,000 and the latter at £ 108,000, tax excluded, in the UK.
Expensive pricing aside, the limited edition Mini
features an upgraded version of the original A-Series engine, with a capacity
of 1,420 cc. Oselli tuned it to deliver 40 percent more power, which in this
case, takes the output to over 100 hp. The air intake and exhaust have been
upgraded to further bring some extra power, while a five-speed gearbox is the
only option.
Other mechanical enhancements include the addition
of the Spax performance dampers and upgraded brakes, with larger front discs
gripped by 4-piston calipers and alloy rear drums. At 7×13-inch, the Enkei
alloy wheels, available in silver or gold, are employed to accommodate the
bigger brakes and improve the grip levels.
Finished in either white or grey, with red, blue or
green stripes and accents, the Mini Remastered Oselli also features darkened
brightware and mesh grille with two LED spotlights. The build number is painted
on the grille and at the back and the monotone badge on the bonnet rounds up
the visual changes.
The two-seat version sports hand-trimmed bucket
seats and a half-leather roll cage with rear storage. It can be fitted with a
Sabelt four-point racing harness in different colors or a standard seatbelt
better suitable for daily use. A hand-trimmed roll cage is also available,
along with Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and build number displayed on the
glove compartment. The two- and four-seater variants also get accent colors
that match the chosen racing stripe and black trim. Buyers can spend more money on
personalized racing suits and helmets.
