Japanese tuning masters Liberty Walk have previewed
the new widebody Lamborghini Huracan they will present at November’s SEMA Show
in Las Vegas. Liberty Walk has more experience creating custom widebody kits for supercars
and luxury cars than virtually any other tuner, and this particular Huracan is
the perfect example.
Like other packages from the company, its Huracan
modifications start with an Airrex Suspension system that allows for adjustable
ride height so the car can be lowered when it’s on static display and raised
when it is being driven. The lowered suspension also plays a significant role
in the distinctive looks of the car – and that’s even before you start looking
at the bodykit.
The front is perhaps the most restrained part and
includes re-shaped air intakes, a new splitter and a hood with large air
extractors. In addition, there are Porsche 911 GT3 RS-like louvers on the front
wheel arches to aid in aerodynamics. Then we come to the rear that is so wild
it makes the Aventador SVJ look like a Honda Civic. Well, not exactly, but you
get the point.
For starters, there is a gargantuan wing with sharp
endplates and a prominent central upright. Liberty Walk has also developed a
carbon fiber rear diffuser for the mid-engined Italian supercar and developed a
set of bespoke quad tailpipes.
Driving a Huracan like this on the road could be
quite a challenge due to the low ride height that could prove problematic with
things like speed bumps and potholes. However, it’s hard to think of a better
way to make a statement.
