The patent images of
the Lynk & Co 05 were exposed by China's Ministry of Industry and
Information Technology. Just one look at the exterior design and its lineage
with the fuel-burning Lynk & Co 05 is rapidly evident. For instance, the
waterfall-like headlights and the unmistakable grille are also adopted by the
gasoline version. Under the grille is a large-sized air-breather, which makes
the front face look more aggressive.
Basically, the 05 is a "coupe" version of
the 01 crossover, Lynk & Co's first production model that's been on sale
since late 2017. Certainly, the PHEV version also retains the “couple” design.
Besides, the vehicle's sports essence is further accentuated by the intricate
waistline design.
At the rear end, taillights are embedded with a
cluster of horizontally-installed LED lamps rather than vertically-installed
crystal lamps for other models. A silver trim stretches across a black panel
and taillights, the same as the combustion-engine version. The new PHEV also
packs an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side. However, the “05 PHEV”
lettering still reveals its NEV identity.
The new model measures 4,592 mm long, 1,879 mm wide
and 1,628 mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,734 mm. The new car's powertrain combines
a 132 kW 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a plug-in hybrid system for a
combined fuel consumption of 1.3 litres per 100 kilometers.
