The new Kamiq has
become Skoda’s second SUV to get the Monte Carlo trim. Joining the recently unveiled
Scala Monte Carlo at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10, the
range-topping variant of the subcompact SUV will become available in the entire
engine lineup, with deliveries set to commence in the fourth quarter of the
year.
Boasting a sportier styling, the new Kamiq Monte
Carlo is defined by the glossy black frame surrounding the grille. The accents
extend to the front bumper, side mirror caps, side sills, roof rails, diffuser
and ‘Skoda’ lettering on the tailgate. Completing the revised looks are the LED
taillights and standard 17- or optional 18-inch alloy wheels.
A special look has been given to the interior, with
the addition of front sports seats, red accents, ‘Kamiq’ door sills and red LED
ambient lighting. The steering wheel, gear selector and handbrake lever are
wrapped in perforated leather and Skoda has also added aluminum pedals, chrome
look for the air vents, black roof lining and special floor mats.
It also gets standard tinted rear windows and a
panoramic roof. Although pricing and full specs will be announced closer to its
on-sale date, the Monte Carlo will be the new top spec, so it might also
feature gear such as a fully customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument
cluster, as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and a wireless
charging pad.
