Just as soon as Subaru launched the 2019 Levorg
estate/wagon in Europe, many noticed the car was no longer available in any
turbocharged version.
Previously, the European variant of the Levorg used
to ship with two turbos to choose trom: 1.6-liter (170 hp) and
2.0-liter (300 hp and 400 Nm). Now, the car invariably ships
with an FB Series 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine (150 hp, 198 Nm). The engine is compliant with the Euro 6d-Temp and consumes around
7.3 liters of gas per 100 kilometers (6.9 l in the discontinued 1.6T version).
The same old Lineartronic CVT sends the power to all four wheels.
The design of the car has changed slightly to
reflect the fact that it is no longer turbocharged. The hood no longer sports
the nostril-like power dome and is now smooth. The basic trim now ships with a
Gen 3.1 multimedia system featuring 7-inch touch-enabled display, Apple CarPlay
and Android Auto.
The basic trim also includes a two-zone climate control,
front seat heating, rain and light sensors, a reversing camera, LED-based
headlights with the curve illumination feature, and the updated EyeSight driver
aid package. The price amounts to € 30,000, which is approximately 4% cheaper
than the turbo version was when it premiered. There are three trim versions in
total, with the range-topping Exclusive bringing along genuine leather finish,
a panoramic glass roof and satellite navigation for € 35,000.
It is worth pointing out that the Japan-sold Levorg
GT Tourer, which came out in 2014 and is currently heading into next
generation, is still available with both turbo engines and the power-dome hood.
