Despite being no longer in production, the Volkswagen Beetle is still an iconic model, so it’s no wonder that tuners continue to offer different upgrades for it. The latest example comes from B&B AutomobilTechnik and is aimed at the Beetle Convertible, powered by the 2.0-liter TSI unit. In stock form, the petrol engine produces 220 PS and 350 Nm of torque, yet with the addition of a larger turbo, improved air intake, software remap and a few other changes, the output has grown to 380 PS and 525 Nm of torque.

With the extra muscle, the tuner has shaved 1.5 seconds off the Beetle’s 0-100 km/h sprint, which now takes 5.2 seconds. From 0 to 200 km/h, the car is a full 8 seconds quicker, needing 17.8 sec. Top speed has also increased from 231 km/h to over 250 km/h.

As for the financial part, it will cost you € 9,950 in Germany to get the tuner’s Stage 4 upgrade, another € 998 for the Kat sports exhaust, which can be had with a €1,498 sound booster, or € 2,950 more for the racing exhaust system.

Stages 3 and 2 cost € 3,950 and € 1,498, respectively, and boost the output to 326 PS and 460 Nm of torque, and 300 PS and 430 Nm. All versions are offered with a removed speed limiter and models packing automatic transmission feature electronic adaptation.

Optimizing the stance of the Beetle Cabrio is B&B’s aftermarket spring set that costs € 298 and drops the body by 30 mm. Additionally, you can opt for the € 1,798 KW coilover suspension. A high performance braking system is also available at € 3,795.

Finally, the 8.5×20-inch wheels, shod in 235/30-20 tires, will set you back € 3,298, whereas the 18- and 19-inch rims start at € 1,950.
