Volkswagen has
added a top-of-the-line engine and two design packages to the T-Roc range in
Europe. For starters, the compact SUV gets a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder
turbodiesel engine rated at 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque in
the range-topping Sport trim level. The new power plant is paired as standard
with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive.
Equipped with the
new powertrain, the T-Roc covers the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 7.2
seconds and reaches a top speed of 216 km/h. Unsurprisingly, this
model is the most expensive T-Roc you can buy in Germany, not counting the
extreme T-Roc R, and starts from € 35,105 (US$ 38,650), including
VAT.
Moving on to the
newly-available design packages, they’re called “Black Style” and “beats.” As
the name suggests, the former brings many black elements including the mirror
caps, side trims, bottom grille strip and 18-inch “Grange Hill” alloys, as well
as a new decal on the C-pillar with a grey and black graphic pattern, while
options include a black roof and black 19-inch Suzuka alloy wheels.
Inside, the styling
pack adds a black headliner, black glossy dash pad, and white background
lighting. In Germany, the “Black Style” package is available on the Style and
Sport trim levels from € 1,575 (US$ 1,733) and € 1,235 (US$ 1,360), respectively.
As for the “beats”
styling pack, it comes with a 300-watt “beats” sound system with six
loudspeakers, digital 8-channel amplifier, and subwoofer. The package also
includes a Composition Media radio and App-Connect, as well as red accents for
the exterior and interior.
On the inside, the
package brings tread plates with “beats” lettering, a red dash pad and red
background lighting. Exterior upgrades consist of red mirror caps, unique
C-pillar decals and 17-inch “Mayfield” alloys with a red edge around the VW
badge. The “beats” package is available in Germany on the Style and Sport
grades from € 720 (US$ 793) and € 850 (US$ 935), respectively.
