The 2019 Audi A6
has been finally launched in India, with prices starting at INR 54.20 lakh* and
going up to INR 59.20 lakh*. The car is available in two trim levels, the
Premium Plus and Technology. Unlike the old model which was available in both
petrol and diesel engine options, the all-new model is available with only a
petrol engine.
The A6 features a very similar design language as seen on the Audi
Prologue concept models. It sports a more angular and larger hexagonal
single-frame grille flanked by newly designed HD Matrix LED headlights. The new
lights come with five-lined futuristic-looking DRLs. At the rear, it now gets
new combination lamps along with a new boot lid. In sync with the front
headlamp design, the tail lights get similar designed treatment with nine
vertical light signature elements capped by a single horizontal line.
The 2019 Audi A6
measures 4,939 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width and 1,457 mm in height. When
compared to the outgoing model, the car is 7 mm longer, 12 mm wider and 2 mm
taller. Apart from that, it now uses a 12 mm longer wheelbase which measures
2,924 mm.
On the inside, it
get the latest Audi A8 and Audi A7 inspired dual-display setup - a 10.1-inch
infotainment display on the top and an 8.6-inch display at the bottom which
allows for the climate control, convenience functions, text inputs and much
more. The MMI Navigation touchscreen infotainment system is standard, while the
Technology trim offers the more advanced MMI Navigation Plus touchscreen
infotainment system. Both the units include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
support.
The Premium Plus
trim includes the Audi Sound System (180 watts, 10 speakers, 6 channels), while
the Technology trim includes a B&O Premium 3D sound system (705 watts, 16
speakers, 15 channels). The latter benefits from Audi Phone Box, and Audi
Virtual Cockpit Plus as well. While the basic equipment line offers 2-zone
automatic climate control, the higher equipment line uses a 4-zone automatic
climate control system. Park Assist and Parking Aid Plus are also included in
only the latter.
Under the hood, the
new generation Audi A6 employs a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre petrol unit (with a
48-volt mild hybrid system) that delivers a higher, 245 PS of maximum power at
5,000-6,000 rpm and 370 Nm of peak torque at 1,600-4,500 rpm. The engine comes
mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 45 TFSI (FWD) is the
engine variant for the Indian market.
The 2019 Audi A6 safety kit packs with features such as Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Electronic
Stabilization Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), full-size airbags along with rear-side
airbags, Audi pre sense basic and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The
all-new model is offered in a single solid exterior finish – Ibis White – and
four metallic exterior colour options - Firmament Blue, Myth Black, Seville Red
and Vesuvious Grey.
