Several purported pictures of the 2020 Genesis GV80 have surfaced online. Posted by a Genesis of Freehold, and noticed by Motor1, the images are claimed to be “spy photos.” That’s clearly not the case, but they’re interesting nonetheless.

After doing a little bit of digging, we were able to find the images appeared on a number of South Korean websites in June. One forum suggests they were taken from a YouTube video and that seems plausible. Regardless of their origin, the pictures show a stylish crossover that features a large crest grille which is flanked by quad headlights. Below, there’s a trapezoidal intake and angular accents which channel air into vertical openings near the outside edges of the bumper. Further back, there’s front fender vents and a pronounced shoulder line. We can also see a dynamic greenhouse and a steeply sloping roof.

Continuing to the rear, the crossover has a tailgate-mounted spoiler and quad taillights. There’s also a dual exhaust system which echoes the one used on the facelifted G90. The authenticity of the pictures remains questionable, but several styling features match up with previous spy photos. These include the quad lighting units, crest-shaped exhaust tips and the design of the front fascia.

Genesis hasn’t said much about the upcoming crossover, but it’s expected to be launched next year with a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 that develops 365 hp and 509 Nm of torque.
