Images of the new generation Honda Jazz / Fit have
found their way online via what looks like an official model guide in Japanese,
revealing not only the design of the new sub-compact but also its trim options
for the Japanese market.
As expected, the new Honda Jazz / Fit will mostly
retain its familiar looks, only now it features a much cleaner design aided by
a body-colored panel instead of a traditional front grille and modern LED
headlights. The rear end features a pair of slim taillights, as expected from
our recent spy shots.
The interior will remain one of the most practical
places to sit in the segment, with the dashboard adopting simple lines and way
more tech features than before; this includes a standard 7-inch digital
instrument cluster and a new infotainment system with connected services. The
new Jazz / Fit is also getting the same, two-spoke steering wheel we first saw
in the electric Honda e.
The images come from the Japanese Creative311, which
also mentions that the new Honda Jazz / Fit is indeed getting a new hybrid
powetrain that combines a 1.5-liter petrol four-cylinder with dual electric
motors, which will be the only option for European customers.
The range of the new Honda Jazz / Fit in its home
market in Japan will be divided into four trim levels: Basic, Ness, Luxe and
the SUV-like Crosstar. Ness models will offer more vivid color combos both
inside and out, as well as sporty 16-inch alloy wheels. Luxe models come with a
bicolor leather interior and model-specific 16-inch alloy wheels.
The crossover-like Crosstar models are the only ones
to get a proper-looking grille up front, together with additional body
cladding, roof rails and a slightly increased ground clearance. The 2019 Tokyo Motor Show opens
its gates today, so stay tuned for the full details on the 2020 Honda
Jazz / Fit.
