A set of images have surfaced online depicting the facelifted Hyundai Grandeur in Korea, also sold as the Azera in other markets, including the USA in its former form until last year.

The current Grandeur is in its sixth-generation and was first introduced three years ago, hence why the South Korean car manufacturer has already worked on a minor refresh for the luxurious sedan. These pictures come from the Ruliweb and Bobaedream forums as well as Carscoops’ reader Ryan L. and preview a much sharper design.

Hyundai has ditched the curvaceous headlights of the outgoing model and replaced them with more angular units with sharp edges much like the lights of the latest Hyundai Sonata. These headlights have then been neatly incorporated into a revised grille that provides the sedan with a sharper and sportier appearance.

Another image shows off the rear of the new Grandeur where once again Hyundai’s designers have dropped the curves in favor of straight lines and sharp edges. There is a different bumper, for example, and newly-designed taillights that continue to feature a light bar stretching the width of the rear. Revised tailpipes are also visible.

It remains to be seen when the new Grandeur will start rolling off the production line and hit the South Korean market. Details about the engine options that will be available also remain unconfirmed although the Theta 2.4 GDi inline-four, Lambda 3.0 MPi V6, Lambda 3.0 GDi V6, and Lambda 3.5 MPi V6 could be retained from the current car.

Sales of the current Grandeur are currently limited to global markets such as South Korea, China, the Middle East, and select markets in the Americas following Hyundai’s decision to pull the car from Canada and the U.S. for the 2017 model year.
