The KTM 250 Adventure has been spotted on test
again, and this time, we have a clearer look at its front fascia. As seen in
the spy image, the upcoming KTM 250 Adventure will feature a halogen headlight
that will be of the same design as that of the KTM 250 Duke. The 250 Adventure
will also pack a headlight mask along with windscreen, although the latter is
not visible on the test mule in the latest spy photograph.
Apart from a relatively lower-spec headlight setup,
the 250 Adventure will look identical to the 390 Adventure. Thus, the 250
Adventure will come equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, fuel
tank extensions, split seat setup and a single-piece pillion grab rail. The
crash guards and saddlebag stays/pannier mounts, too, will be similar to the
390 Adventure, and both motorcycles will share the same optional luggage
solutions.
The previous sighting of the 250 Adventure had shown
a TFT-style display instead of an orange backlit LCD console like on the 250
Duke. While the details are scarce, KTM will keep some differences in the functions.
The Bluetooth connectivity option, for example, may come as an optional extra
on the 250 Adventure.
It will be safe to assume that the upcoming 250
Adventure will share its engine specifications with the 250 Duke. The
quarter-litre adventure tourer will arrive with a BS-VI compliant 248.8 cc
single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. This engine, in BS-IV guise, pumps out 30
hp and 24 Nm on the 250 Duke.
Braking duties will be performed by a 300 mm single
disc with four-piston radial fixed calliper and a 230 mm single disc with a
single-piston floating calliper at the front and back respectively. The safety
net will most definitely comprise dual-channel ABS, although it will be
interesting to see if the 250 Adventure will benefit from supermoto mode
(disengages rear ABS). The 250 Duke, for reference, does not feature the
supermoto mode.
Hardware specifications will include 43 mm inverted
telescopic forks and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the front and rear
respectively. KTM will offer the 250 Adventure at a relatively lower price tag than
the 390 Adventure. Thus, we expect the 250 Adventure to arrive in the INR 2.5
lakh-2.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) price bracket. The arrival details are
scarce, although a recent report claimed that the Indian launch of the 390
Adventure will take place in December this year. The 250 Adventure should
arrive around the same time.
