Nissan GT-R
Nismo has been updated for the 2020MY, receiving, among others, a very hefty
starting price. At AUD 299,000 (US$ 202,341), its predecessor was already very
costly, yet the improved version will set you back a minimum of AUD 378,000
(US$ 255,802), before on-road costs and options.
For the 2020MY GT-R Nismo, Nissan has improved the
aerodynamics, adding front fenders inspired by the GT3 racer. The supercar also
features carbon fiber on the bonnet, fenders and roof that help shave 10.5 kg from the total weight. Another 100 grams have been saved by
adding the new 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, shod in grippy Dunlop tires.
Completing the look are the blue titanium exhaust tips.
Inside, it features new Recaro sports seats, 8-inch
touchscreen display, satellite navigation system with 3D mapping, reversing
camera, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming and other gear.
Mechanical improvements include the re-tuned
Bilstein shock absorbers and revised spring rates. The car also gets new Brembo
brakes, with large calipers and carbon ceramic rotors, the biggest ever fitted
to a Japanese high-performance model.
The same turbochargers used on the GT3 have been
added to the 3.8-liter V6. The engine kicks out 600 PS at
6,800 rpm and 652 Nm of torque between 3,600 and 5,600 rpm, and is
paired to an updated six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, with
refined ‘R’ driving mode.
