The Subaru Crosstrek lineup now enters the 2020MY with minor price hikes and updated equipment. The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek now starts at US$ 22,145, a US$ 250 increase over last year’s model. The 2020 Crosstrek Hybrid starts at US$ 35,145, making it US$ 150 more expensive than before.

The CVT-equipped models (including the Hybrid) now come standard with the Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, Auto Start-Stop and SI-Drive powertrain performance management system. The Base and Premium models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission do not get these features as standard. For the ones that do, the safety suite includes Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Throttle Management, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert.

All 2020 Crosstrek models get standard Automatic Power Door Locks with Collision Detection Unlock Function and Automatic Climate Control. In addition, the Limited trim gains LED fog lights, Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Automatic Individual Wheel ID Registration, and Rear Seat Reminder as standard. The latter feature is optional on lesser grades.

As before, the 2020 Crosstrek is offered in three trim levels (Base, Premium, and Limited) while the 2020 Crosstrek Hybrid comes in a single standard trim.

Regardless of the trim level, the 2020 Crosstrek and Crosstrek Hybrid come standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine with direct fuel injection. The Lineartronic CVT is available on all trim levels and features an eight-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters on Premium and Limited specs.

In the 2020 Crosstrek, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine makes 152 HP and 197 Nm of torque, while in the plug-in hybrid the four-pot is assisted by two electric motors for a system output of approximately 148 hp. An 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery provides an all-electric driving range of 27 km at speeds of up to 105 km/h.

The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek and 2020 Crosstrek Hybrid will arrive at Subaru retailers later this year.
