Seat’s high-performance Cupra brand is introducing a
new limited edition of the Ateca, featuring a range of special add-ons aimed at
making it more enticing.
Limited to just 1,999 examples, the new Cupra Ateca
Special Edition gets a set of new 20-inch copper-finish alloy wheels, as well
as unique copper-thread carbon-fiber details that include the roof spoiler,
mirror covers and the interior mouldings that frame the dashboard and climate
controls. Even the key is housed in a carbon-fiber cover.
The model’s color palette includes this exclusive
Graphene Grey in addition to Energy Blue and Rodium Grey. The interior features
a set of Petrol Blue Alcantara seats, a color that continues through to the
rear seats and door panels, making the new Cupra Ateca Limited Edition really
stand out from the standard version.
Changes under the bonnet are minimal, with the Cupra
Ateca Limited Edition still powered by a turbocharged 2,0-liter four-cylinder
engine producing 300 PS and 400 Nm of torque. A
seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is the only option, sending power to all
four wheels. Cupra claims a 0-100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds and a top
speed of 247 km/h.
The new Cupra Ateca Limited Edition also comes
fitted with a progressive steering system that according to the company is
“designed to offer the perfect balance between directness and feedback”. The
standard model’s exhaust has been replaced by a titanium Akrapovic system that
saves 7 kg and provides a “highly emotive” note.
Prospective customers are invited to register their
interest via the company’s first online reservation platform, which will serve
as the go-to solution for those wishing to reserve their vehicle for up to six
weeks before sales are scheduled to begin.
