With the BS-VI deadline almost upon us,
manufacturers are going all in to get their present product offerings certified
by statutory bodies. IAB has got hold of exclusive details about the power
output of the BS-VI Honda CB Shine 125.
The BS-VI Honda CB Shine 125 will produce 10.8 PS of power at the crank, which is up from 10.3 PS from the
existing tune. Besides the new emission norms, motorcycles in India will also
gain On Board Diagnostics I (OBD-I). The leaked document also reveals a change
in dimension of the Honda CB Shine 125. Its wheelbase has been increased by 19
mm to 1,285 mm. Also, the bike now measures 2,020 mm (+8 mm) in length, 785 mm
(+23 mm) in width and 1,103 mm (+13 mm).
The Honda CB Shine 125’s powerplant is coupled to a
4-speed gearbox and in its present tune weighs 123 kg. We expect this number to
go through a small increase for the BS-VI version. Honda 2Wheelers India will
be offering the CB Shine 125 in three variants – Standard with front and rear
drum brakes, Deluxe with front and rear drum and Deluxe with front disc and
rear drum brake.
Besides that, we also expect the same power output
in the slightly more premium Honda CB Shine SP. This version gets a 5-speed
gearbox instead of the 4-speed unit doing duty in CB Shine 125. However,
considering the fact that the CB Shine SP shares the cycle parts with the CB
Shine, there may be a change in dimensions in the CB Shine SP too.
