The Hyundai Creta 1.6L diesel is now available in
the entry-level E+ and EX trims as well. The prices of these new configurations
are yet to be announced. For reference, the Hyundai Creta 1.6L diesel was
previously priced from INR 13,36,033, when it was offered in only the S and
higher trims.
The Hyundai Creta 1.6L diesel employs the Dual VTVT
turbocharged four-cylinder unit that generates best-in-segment 128 PS at 4,000
rpm and 260 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 ~ 3,000 rpm. It can be had
with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. However, the availability of the latter
depends on the trim selected, and in case of the E and E+ grades, it's
unavailable.
The E+ grade is equipped with features like manual
air conditioning, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, electric
tailgate release, front power outlet and front & rear power windows. The EX
grade adds LED DRLs and a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with
Bluetooth connectivity.
In terms of safety equipment, the E+ variant has
rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, airbags (driver & passenger), day/night
IRVM, front seat belts with pretensioner, driver & front passenger seatbelt
reminder, speed alert system, impact sensing auto door unlock, lane change
indicator, speed sensing auto door lock and immobilizer. The EX variant
additionally offers a rear camera with steering adaptive parking guidelines
display and front fog lamps.
The Hyundai Creta rivals the newly launched Kia
Seltos, as well as the MG Hector and Tata Harrier C-SUVs. Local testing of the
next-gen Hyundai Creta has commenced. The all-new model will be launched by
mid-2020.
