For many years, British carmaker Caterham has been
building sports cars based on the legendary Lotus Seven. Today, their Bulgarian
colleagues from Kinetik Automotive unveil a custom take on the Caterham – the Kinetik
07.
The Sofia-made all-electric speedster packs a
powertrain rated at 644 hp and bolts from zero to 100
km/h in 2.7 seconds. Although technically based on the Caterham
chassis, 90% of the speedster – ranging from its bodywork to the digital
platform – is 3D-printed from composite materials. The technology used enables
Kinetik Automotive to customize the car shape according to the clients’ needs
and fine-tune numerous other technical parameters.
The company initially intends to produce only seven
such cars without established pricing. On an interesting note, while the
Kinetic 07 is obviously primarily suited for racing applications, it remains
completely road-legal.
