Rolls-Royce’s Black Badge family of cars, which counts the Ghost, Wraith and Dawn, was developed using a daring approach and has managed to attract a new generation of customers to the brand. Now, that spirit is being celebrated by bionic performing artist Viktoria Modesta.

According to Wiki, Modesta was born in Latvia in 1988 as Viktorja Moskajova and moved to the UK when she was 12. Due to a doc’s negligence at birth, she spent most of her early years in hospitals and eventually decided in 2007 to have her left leg amputated below the knee. She then peformed at the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony, Art Basel, and took part in Fashion Weeks worldwide.

This is where the ‘bionic’ part comes into play, as Viktoria now rocks a special prosthetic leg made by Joe DiPrima at ArcAttack, Alternative Limb Project and Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective. Made from carbon fiber, it features a Tesla coil incorporated into the heel that activates under pressure to create a ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ effect, illuminating the glass area with large sparks on demand. The colored portion has been inspired by the Rolls-Royce grille, with black paint, 3D printed and electroplated motif.
