It seems like Suzuki is taking the Tokyo Motor Show
seriously this year. The automaker already has three premieres planned,
including the second-gen Hustler, the transforming Waku Spo, and the
self-driving Hanare. The latter two only exist as 3D sketches right now.
According to Suzuki, the Hanare will come equipped
with Tier 5 autonomous driving tech, which will enable it to move about without
any kind of a driver. It has been primarily designed to fulfil the functions of
a mobile office or a taxi. Depending on the particular use you have in mind,
you can retrofit its passenger capsule with folding tables, sofas and displays,
including a giant LED screen occupying half a side wall.
Interestingly, the all-electric AWD minibus has a
single door spanning its entire width and can move in any direction without
turning. To that end, it comes equipped with headlights that can switch to red
taillight mode, and vice versa.
