The 2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe has its world
premiere at the LA Auto Show in a very special configuration. We’re talking about the
First Edition model, a limited-run M8 Gran Coupe that closely emulates the
looks of the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
BMW will only build 400 of these First Edition models and all of them will feature
an identical specification.
The headline act is the striking BMW
Individual Aurora Diamond Green metallic paint finish, complemented by Gold
Bronze accents for the M8 badging, side window surrounds, M gills, and mirror
caps.
The door sill plates also sport a Gold
Bronze finish, as do the exclusive 20-inch dual-tone Forged M Star-Spoke
light-alloy wheels. Adding to the list of unique features are the BMW Iconic
Laser lights in vibrant yellow that give the car a striking resemblance to the
concept. Inside, customers will find BMW Individual
Merino full-leather trim in Ivory White/Taruma Brown, as well as a “First
Edition 1/400” inscription on the center console’s piano black door.
No changes were made in the powertrain
department, where the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 produces 600 PS in the “standard” model and 625 PS in the Competition version. In both
cases, the peak torque is 750 N), available between 1,800 – 5,600
rpm.
As the name suggests, First Edition models
will kick off sales of the BMW M8 Gran Coupe lineup in April 2020. Prices have
not been released yet but we’re pretty sure this is going to be the most expensive
M8 Gran Coupe available to buy.
