Unveiled at the Ducati World Premiere in Rimini,
Italy, was the 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour. This variant on the
base Multistrada 1260 S is designed for long distance road touring and comes
with side panniers as standard with a Sandstone grey paint job on Ducati red
frame.
Setting the Grand Tour version of the Multistrada
1260 S apart from the range is a centre stand, height-adjustable seat with
Grand Tour logo and auxiliary LED riding lights. Also included in the list of
rider conveniences is a keyless fuel tank cap, heated grips and tyre pressure
monitoring system.
Coming with the Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic
Variable Timing) V-twin displacing 1,262 cc, the Grand Tour rider has 158 hp at
9,500 rpm and 132 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm on tap. Power is transmitted
through a six-speed gearbox equipped with an up-and-down quickshifter and chain
final drive.
The 17-inch wheels in black with Ducati red trim
biases the Multistrada 1260 Grand Tour towards road use, along with the Ducati
Skyhook Evolution semi-active electronic suspension. Inside the cockpit is a
5-inch full-colour TFT-LCD instrument panel that comes standard with a
Bluetooth module, allowing the rider to tap into the Ducti Multimedia System
using a smartphone and controlled via buttons on the handlebar switch pods.
Other rider conveniences include cruise control,
four ride modes, vehicle hold control, cornering ABS and Ducati Wheelie and
Launch Control which can be set to one of eight levels independently or
completely deactivated. The 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour is now
available in Europe.
