Aston Martin has teamed up with British Airways, one of the Concorde’s two flag carrying airline operators, to pay tribute to the fastest ever passenger jet with the DBS Superleggera Concorde. Limited to just 10 units and already up for grabs, it joins the Vanquish S Red Arrows, Vantage Blades and V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80 in the company’s aviation-inspired model lineup.
Commissioned by Aston Martin Bristol, it boasts several unique features on the outside, such as the British Airways colors applied to different parts, a black tinted carbon fiber roof with the jet’s silhouette graphic, ‘Speedmarque’ logo on the front wings and the Q by Aston Martin wing badge with a black enamel infill.
The unique jet black painted Civil Aviation Authority aircraft identifier numbers and bespoke inspection plaques that have been signed by British Airways Chairman Alex Cruz and Aston Martin Lagonda President and Group CEO Andy Palmer, complete the look.
The interior has been personalized as well and continues the aviation-inspired theme. Thus, it gets the Concorde logo on the front seat facings, Mach Meter graphic embroidered in the sun visor on the driver’s side, ‘sonic boom’ graphic in the Alcantara headliner, titanium paddle shifters made from the Concorde’s compressor blades, special sill plaques, seatbelt buckle badges made from solid aluminum and unique floor mats.
The DBS Superleggera Concorde retains the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which continues to make 725 PS and 900 Nm of torque. The super GT does the 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a 340 km/h max speed. The automaker will donate parts of the proceeds from the sale of each car to a non-profit organization that supports under-privileged children and teaches them to fly.
