The Chery Tiggo 7 mini-SUV may have only debuted three years ago, but its maker is ready to unveil the second generation at the 2019 Auto Guangzhou show kicking off on November 22, 2019.

Judging by the first revealed sketches, the car has changed dramatically and is not even recognizable as a Tiggo 7 unless you look at the badge. The LED headlights are completely new, the radiator grille has grown in size, and there is now a horizontal LED strip connecting the brake lights.

At 4,500 mm long, 1,842 mm wide and 1,746 mm tall, the newcomer has larger overall dimensions than its predecessor, but the wheelbase stays unchanged at 2,670 millimeters. This may mean that it uses the previous-gen chassis. The wheels range between 17 and 19 inches in size.

It is official that the Mk2 Chery Tiggo 7 will ship with the old 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine rated close to 150 hp and 220 Nm of torque. A new 1.6 turbo will be introduced with 197 hp and 290 Nm. The Getrag six-speed, dual-clutch transmission will continue to be available, too, while the six-speed manual transmission and AWD remain up in the air.
