The 2019 Los Angeles
Auto Show is just around the corner, and it will host a bunch of world
premieres. Hyundai, for one, has at least one major debut set to show its face
during the event, and it’s a crossover concept. Described
as a “ground breaking” vehicle, it’s the seventh in a series of show cars put
together by the Hyundai Design Center that expresses an evolvement of the
company’s Sensuous Sportiness global design language.
It will boast a hidden
signature lamp inspired by the Grandeur facelift and Le Fil Rouge, as well as a
Parametric Air Shutter grille design with individual shells that create a
dynamic design and adjust the airflow that enters the powertrain, while also
optimizing the aerodynamics and improving fuel consumption.
The teaser images
reveal a crossover with an elegant profile, squared wheel arches, slim lights
at both ends and a sloping roofline. It lacks conventional door handles and
side mirrors, as the latter have likely been replaced by tiny cameras. Hyundai’s yet-to-be-named study packs a
plug-in hybrid powertrain with the ability to travel on zero emissions for
short distances.
