Karma Automotive will
have a sizable presence at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and the company has released the
first teaser image of a new concept. Dubbed the SC2, the
concept will be unveiled on November 19th and is being billed as an “evolution”
of the SC1 Vision concept that debuted earlier this year.
The company is
keeping details under wraps, but the teaser image suggests the model will be a
stylish coupe that features gullwing doors. We can also see digital side
mirrors, curvaceous bodywork and a small trunk. The roof also appears to act as
a spoiler and the rear end has a full-width LED light bar.
Little else is
known about the concept, but the SC1 was a two-seat roadster that hinted at the
company’s future styling language. The model was also a pure electric vehicle
and the SC2 will likely use the same powertrain. Besides introducing the
concept, Karma will unveil the Revero GTS. It’s billed as a “performance version”
of the standard Revero GT.
The company didn’t
elaborate, but previous reports have said the Revero GTS will have an upgraded
interior, special wheels and a hotter powertrain. The latter should enable the
car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
There’s no word on
specifics, but the standard Revero GT has two electric motors that produce a
combined output of 536 hp and 1,491 Nm of
torque. They enable the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.5
seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 201 km/h.
The motors are
powered by a 28 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and this enables the car to travel
up to 129 km on electricity alone. Since that isn’t very far, the
Revero is also equipped with a BMW-sourced 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that
acts as a generator and extends the overall driving range up to 579
km.
