The upcoming Okinawa Lite electric scooter has been
spied ahead of its India launch. The new electric scooter from the brand boasts
several premium features and modern styling. The front fascia, for example,
features an apron mounted headlight with DRL and blinkers. The headlamp setup
comprises twin-pod LEDs along with a projector-style setup. The U-shaped LED
DRL sits on the lower part of the headlight assembly. The front LED blinkers
are positioned on the lower part of the apron. The handlebar mask features a
dual-tone design, which gives it a modern look, and it should appeal to young
buyers.
The modern styling cues are carried to the cockpit
that comprises a fully digital, LCD instrument console with a smoked screen.
Limited functions are visible because of the sunlight, although we could see
three riding modes (Low, High and Exceed), a large speedometer and tachometer
on the display. We expect Bluetooth connectivity to be part of the package. A
start/stop switch is visible on the scooter, while the keyhole is not. Thus,
the upcoming Okinawa Lite will feature keyless ignition function. The keyless
feature, however, will most likely be an optional extra. A storage compartment
with a USB charger is visible next to the start/stop button.
The saddle appears to be relatively shorter than
conventional scooters, although we would wait to see the vehicle in person
before commenting on the comfort levels. A single-piece pillion grab rail
occupies the space behind the saddle. The taillight, similar to the front
fascia, features a U-shaped design under the LED stoplight. The U-shape layout
is most likely a styling feature while the rear blinkers on the electric
scooter are most likely integrated into the taillight. A LED number plate
illuminator and side reflectors finish the tail section of the Lite electric
scooter.
The suspension setup comprises telescopic forks at
the front. The lower part of the front forks features an unconventional, boxy
design. The rear shock absorption setup is not clearly visible, but it appears
to use a single-sided spring. The rear suspension will feature preload
adjustability. Braking hardware includes a disc brake at the front and a drum
unit at the back. The electric scooter rides on alloy wheels than are wrapped in
tubeless tyre.
The mechanical specifications are not available
right now. The electric scooter appears to be ready for deliveries and we
expect to hear launch details very soon.
