We were quite surprised to see the new soft-topped Porsche 911 Targa venture beyond the Arctic Circle, but it looks like Porsche takes its QA testing very seriously, indeed.

We could hardly imagine many owners of the Targa taking it out on a road trip in freezing-cold weather, but making sure your vehicle withstands such adverse conditions is still a plus, so we commend Porsche on the initiative.

Rumor had it that the new 2021 Targa would pack a four-wheel drive, but this particular example seems to be rear-driven (note all the snow clinging to the rear). An anonymous ‘insider’ claims Porsche will be releasing a special Turbo version with 600 hp or more under the hood, but this remains to be confirmed. The entry-level version will pack 379 hp.

The launch date hasn’t been scheduled yet, and everything indicates that it will not happen until at least mid-2020.
