Toyota has launched
the new Yaris (known as Ativ Eco Sedan) in Thailand, priced at 5,29,000 baht for its entry-level automatic-transmission model. The
Thai-spec Toyota Yaris has been given a Euro-5 compliant, 1,200 cc Dual VVT-iE
4-cylinder engine which develops 92 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm
and 109 Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm. It has been rated to deliver an
outstanding fuel economy of 23.3 km/l.
For the
uninitiated, the Yaris is the highest-selling car in the Eco-car sedan market
in Thailand with a cumulative sales of more than 76,000 units. It holds a 32.4%
market share in its segment which is huge by all standards. Last year, it
scored 5-star safety standard rating on the ASEAN NCAP, thanks to the safety
features like 7-airbags, ABS (Anti-Brake Lock System), EBD (Electronic
Brakeforce Distribution), EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) , VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control), TRC (Traction Control) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control) system. Furthermore,
it also features a theft alarm system TDS (Theft Deterrent System) and a
rear-view camera.
On the outside, the
Toyota Yaris (Ativ) gets loaded with features such as darker projector
headlights with LED light guiding, automatic head-on-off control system with
Follow-Me-Home lamps, electrically adjustable side mirror, 15-inch two-tone
polished alloy wheels and more. Inside, the Toyota Yaris (Thai-spec) comes with
an all-black interior with piano black finishes, push-button start and 4.2 inch
TFT colour screen. Furthermore, it gets leather seat covers as well as leather
gear knob cover.
The Thai-spec
Toyota Yaris is offered in 6 colour options including Super White, Silver
Metallic, Gray Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica Metallic and Dark Blue
Mica Metallic. Also, it comes with
exclusive GT accessories which are offered at a special price of 7,000 Baht. The accessories include a front bumper skirt, side skirt (left
and right), rear bumper skirt and rear spoiler, adding a touch of sportiness to
the overall profile of the car.
