Volkswagen has held a special event in China to
reveal the final production version of its ID.4 all-electric crossover –
although still cladded in camo for some reason.
The car draws inspiration from the I.D. Crozz
Concept introduced two years ago, as well as a more recent prototype shown at
the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The production will take place at the
VW-SAIC joint enterprise in China. After premiering there, the ID.4 will likely
be announced in Europe and, sometime later, in the USA.
Volkswagen’s roadmap for 2023 includes launching 10
new EVs in China. Aside from the ID.4, VW showed two ICE-powered cars at the
event: the MPV Viloran and the crossover Tacqua (essentially a long-wheelbase
version of the T-Cross).
Another EV, the ID.3 hatchback will enter
production at November 4, in China and Zwickau, Germany.
