EarthCruiser, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of expedition vehicles, overlanders and motorhomes, has reworked its EXP and FX ranges to fit in with the latest eco norms.
Both cars get rid of their old diesel engines and get a new GM Vortec V8 with six liters of displacement instead. The mill churns out 300 hp along with 490 Nm of torque. An Allison 1000 six-speed auto transmission sends the power to all four wheels.
The drivetrain tech isn’t nearly all the update is about, though. Both trucks sport a lighter roof design (minus 68 kg of weight compared to the previous model), a WARN 16.5 ti-s winch, an expedition rack with a LED light bar, and other handy off-road accessories.
Inside, there is just about everything you may possibly need in a prolonged journey of between 2 and 6 people. Our personal favorite is the slide-out kitchen that you can use to cook meals outdoors, but there is also a fully featured bathroom, a main room, and plenty of niches for storing all of your belongings. The camper truck can store up to 320 liters of drinking-quality water, comes equipped with three different types of water-cleansing filters, and harbors a huge 720-Ah battery.
Prices for the 2020 EarthCruiser EXP and FX start from US$ 350,000, which includes the cost of the Mitsubishi Fuso base vehicle.
