The news just keeps dropping in on Genesis’ first ever SUV, the GV80, which has been caught undisguised yet again during a commercial photo-shoot as well as inside a servicing facility in Korea. The images were shared on a number of Korean forums like Bobaedream.

The 2020 Genesis GV80 is one of the brand’s most important models and now we’re getting a better look at the cabin thanks to several pictures posted online. Looking way more luxurious than Genesis’ current sedan lineup, the GV80 is a proper luxury crossover as the interior has premium materials, leather upholstery, and wood trim.

Drivers sit behind a distinctive two-spoke steering wheel which is leather-wrapped and has a metallic insert. In front of them is a large instrument cluster with an analog speedometer. While this may seem a bit disappointing as many luxury vehicles have adopted digital instrument clusters, sources from Korea say only base, and possibly only domestic versions, will get the analog display, with mid- and high-level trims and export models getting a digital instrument panel.

Moving to the right, there’s a stylish dashboard with a windscreen infotainment system mounted up top. Further below, we can see slender air vents with metallic accents that continue across the passenger side.

Below the air vents is a second screen that is surrounded by large control knobs and an assortment of buttons. The latter appear to offer quick access to climate control settings and menus for the infotainment system. The center console is also a departure for Genesis as it features a new rotary shifter with a park button in the middle. The circular theme is echoed on the drive mode selector which is surrounded by silver or metallic buttons. The console also has wood trim and a cup holder cover.

Rumors have suggested the GV80 could debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but that remains unconfirmed. However, we can expect a handful of engine options including a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 300 hp. Buyers looking for something more powerful should be able to get a 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 530 Nm of torque. Outside the United States, customers will be able to opt for a 3.0-liter straight-six diesel that develops 274 hp and 589 Nm of torque.
