Renault has announced the pricing and
specification of the new generation Captur for the UK market, where it’s
already available to order, with customer delivers set to commence next March.
Three trim levels are on offer, with the entry-level Captur Play getting
standard LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, cruise control with speed limiter,
climate control, 7-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration and
Bluetooth, 4.2-inch driver information display, hands-free entry and a few
other gizmos, from £ 17,595 (US$ 23,219/€ 20,824). Priced at £ 19,095
(US$ 25,198/€ 22,599), the Captur Iconic adds different-styled 17-inch wheels, rear
parking sensors, LED front fog lamps, two-tone paint, roof bars, dark tinted
windows and sat-nav.
The Captur S Edition will cost you at
least £ 20,595 (US$ 27,177/€ 24,374) and adds a larger 9.3-inch touchscreen
infotainment system with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 7-inch
instrument cluster display. Ambient lighting, a reversing camera, front parking
sensors, dusk-sensing headlights (auto wipers are available from the base
grade), leather-wrapped steering wheel and black and light grey synthetic
leather upholstery with dark grey stitching are also standard.
Five engine options, including three
petrol and two diesels, are available from launch, with a PHEV to join the
family next year. The TCe 100 3-cylinder develops 100 PS and
160 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The TCe 130 is shared with the new Clio, Megane and Kadjar, makes 130 PS and 240 Nm of torque, and is available with a either a
6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. The TCe 155 comes paired exclusively with the
auto ‘box and churns out 155 PS and 270 Nm of
torque.
The 1.5-liter dCi diesel is offered in
two outputs, making 95 PS and 240 Nm, and 115 PS and 260 Nm. The former comes with a
6-speed manual gearbox, while the latter can be optionally paired to the
7-speed DCT.
As for the PHEV that’s set to complete
the lineup from 2020, it will be known as the Captur E-Tech. It combines a new
1.6-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and a 9.8 kWh battery that gives
it an electric range of up to 45 km at speeds of up to 134 km/h.
