The
new Chevrolet Trailblazer will launch in the States early next year and will be
available in five trim levels named L, LS, LT, Activ and RS. Pricing for the base model, which packs a
137 hp, 1.2-liter three-pot, matched to a CVT and FWD, will reportedly start at US$ 19,995, according to Car&Driver.
Standard equipment will include amenities such as the 7-inch touchscreen
infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the SUV riding on rather
small 16-inch steel wheels in basic trim.
For
the LS spec, you’re looking at US$ 22,495 with front-wheel drive, or US$ 2,000 more
for the AWD version, which comes bundled with the 155 hp, 1.3-liter
turbo-three. The LT will set you back US$ 24,595 with the 1.2 unit and FWD, but
you can also get the 1.3 lump with FWD, whereas the AWD system, available with
the latter engine only, is a US$ 2,000 option.
Those
who want to leave the beaten path at certain times can choose the Activ, which
brings larger grille, 17-inch wheels with a different pattern shod in Hankook
Sport Terrain tires, dampers with a different setup and the 1.3-liter engine
with standard FWD and US$ 1,500 optional AWD. Adding
a sportier feel to the new Trailblazer is the RS trim, which gets the same 1.3L
power unit, with standard FWD and optional AWD (US$ 1,500), as well as a few extra
styling cues, including a large mesh grille, black bowtie emblems, unique rear
bumper with diffuser and dual exhaust pipes.
Standard
safety features include the automatic emergency braking, forward collision
alert and front pedestrian braking, with the lane keep assist, lane departure
warning, auto high beam assist, reversing camera and rear seat reminder. Among
other options available are a rear cross traffic alert system, HD reversing
camera, rear park assist, lane change alert with side blind zone alert and
adaptive cruise control.
