It’s only been a few months since the
lightly redesigned 2020 Audi SQ7 entered the stage, but ABT Sportline is
already up to its old tuning tricks. As you’d expect, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo
V8 diesel is among the parts tuned by the company. A new engine control unit
helps raise power to 510 PS and 970 Nm of torque.
That’s up from the stock model’s 435 PS and 900 Nm, which does the 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and maxes out at
250 km/h. ABT has not yet announced acceleration figures for its
tune.
The latest SQ7 also boasts a sports
air suspension and steering, and from 2020, it will get the new wide body kit
that’s currently in development. ABT is accepting pre-orders for the reworked
front and rear bumpers, fender flares, new side skirts and roof-mounted wing,
whereas the 22-inch rims, available in three different patterns, with glossy
black, matte black, dark smoke or shadow silver, are already up for grabs and
round up the list of changes on the outside.
For the interior, the tuner has
prepared several different finishes, trimmings and options, such as the special
start-stop switch cap and welcome lights that greet users every time they open
the doors.
This isn’t ABT’s first encounter with
the SQ7, as a couple of years ago, they tuned the pre-facelifted variant,
giving it the wide body treatment, as well as an identical power hike, which
helped it sprint to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, or two tenths of a second
quicker than the stock version.
