Shortly
after it was reported that the forthcoming Ferrari Purosangue SUV will likely
use the same underpinnings as the Roma, LACO Design has rendered what the SUV
could look like with key styling traits of the Roma.
Nobody
outside of Ferrari knows what the Purosangue will look like but we wouldn’t be
shocked if it had a similar shape and look to the SUV you see pictured. If
that’s the case, it will likely be similar in size to the Lamborghini Urus and
Aston Martin DBX.
In
taking after the Roma, the SUV adopts a gaping wide front grille and a pair of
small headlights split in two by sharp LED daytime running lights. In a bid to
make the SUV feel as premium as possible, retractable door handles that fold
flush into the front and rear doors have been fitted. Spin around to the rear
and you will notice an LED light bar stretching the width of the SUV as well as
a set of quad tailpipes and a gloss black bumper off-setting the silver
paintwork.
It’s
not just the design of the Purosangue that remains a mystery but also what
engines it will be offered with. One engine the SUV isn’t expected to receive
is a big V12 and instead, a twin-turbocharged V8 seems much more likely,
probably aided by Ferrari’s upcoming hybrid system. The Ferrari Purosangue is expected to
premiere in 2021 and when it does, has the potential to shake-up the SUV
industry and force other manufacturers to hit back with even more capable
rivals. The market’s current fascination with SUVs has rubbed many people the
wrong way but as long as high-end SUVs continue to get faster, you won’t hear
any complaints from us.
