Genesis unveiled the highly
anticipated GV80 last night and now the company has launched a configurator for
their first luxury crossover. If you just can’t wait to build your perfect
GV80, you can check it out here. That being said, there’s a bit of learning
curve as the configurator is in Korean and doesn’t work with Google Translate.
If that hasn’t put you off,
you can build away. The only engine available at the moment is the 3.0-liter
six-cylinder diesel that produces 274 hp and 589
Nm of torque. Once you confirm that selection, you’ll be given options for
rear- or all-wheel drive. The next step involves selecting between a five- and
seven passenger seating configuration.
Once the basics are out of the
way, then comes the fun part. Users can select between eight standard exterior
colors or three optional hues that cost an extra ₩ 700,000 (US$ 604). After the
paint is selected, the configurator presents three wheel choices including
standard 19-inchers and two optional wheels that measure 20- and 22-inches.
Moving into the cabin, there’s
11 different upholstery options. The model comes standard with black or white
leather, but the Signature Design Selection seats are far more elegant as they
feature diamond-quilted leather. Of course, they’re a tad pricey as they cost
₩ 3,000,000 (US$ 2,589).
Users can also select between
four different types of wood trim including Birch, Black Ash, Olive Ash and
“Metallic Pore Filler Ash.” The latter appears to be a poor translation, but
it’s a unique trim with a sand or rock-like appearance. From there, you jump
into the options and are presented choices for a head-up display and a “high
tech package.” The latter includes a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster
and adaptive headlights.
Buyers can also opt for a
driving assistance package which adds augmented reality navigation, remote
smart parking assistance and a surround view monitor. There’s also second row
comfort package that adds heated (or power) second row seats with ventilation.
The package also includes a tri-zone climate control system, rear seat pillows,
rear seat mirrors and power sun blinds for the doors. Other options include
soft closing doors, adaptive cruise control and an 18-speaker Lexicon audio
system. The model can also be equipped with an integrated dashcam and a
panoramic sunroof.
