Facelifted for the 2020 model
year and already available in Europe, the Volkswagen T6 recently paid a visit
to ABT Sportsline, where the focus was on power. The tuner’s engine control
unit aimed at the 2.0-liter TDI diesel lets it enjoy 180 PS and 400 Nm of torque, up from the standard 150 PS and 340 Nm.
With the software tune up and
running, ABT then installed a height adjustable suspension kit made by
Bilstein. This option can drop the body by 40-70 mm, and will be
joined by the ABT suspension springs in a few weeks. Speaking of parts that are
in development brings us to yet another engine tune that targets the 199 PS and 450 Nm variant of the oil burner, and bumps
it to 226 PS and 490 Nm.
The final touch represents the
addition of the aftermarket wheels, with ABT offering the 8.5×19-inch DR and
9×20-inch GR sets. The latter can be had in glossy black with diamond machined
flange or matte black with diamond machined finish.
ABT’s previous encounter with
the pre-facelifted version of the T6 brought it a body kit, four-pipe exhaust
system and a few other extras, as the customer demanded, so the latest
iteration might eventually go down the same route. The ECU tune was also
available for a variety of petrol and diesel engines.
