Following the 2022 Fisker
Ocean’s world debut at CES earlier this month, we now have more detailed
specifications of the all-electric luxury SUV to share with you. Fisker has
revealed the SUV’s dimensions, additional features and new photos. Starting
with its footprint, the Fisker Ocean is 4,640-mm long, 1,930-mm wide and 1,615-mm high.
This means it’s similar in
size to competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQC, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Jaguar
I-Pace. We don’t get to learn the distance between the two axles but Fisker
says the Ocean offers a spacious and comfortable environment for five
passengers “even during the longest of rides.”
As for the luggage
compartment, there’s 566 liters of space with the parcel shelf
in place and 708 liters when the trunk is loaded up to the
roof. With the rear seats folded, the loading capacity expands to 1,274 liters. Fisker says the Ocean will also come with roof rails and
towing hook options. However, towing capacity will be released in 2021.
More importantly, we also
learn the Fisker Ocean will be offered in a four-wheel drive configuration on
all trims, except for the base 2WD model. The standard 4WD configuration will
deliver more than 300 HP while the “ultra-high performance
version” targets a zero-to-96 km/h time in under 3 seconds. The
range-topping model’s total power output will be announced in 2021.
A fast recharge of the 80-kWh
battery pack (from 15% percent to 80% percent capacity) is estimated to take 30
minutes and add more than 322 km of range. The Fisker Ocean is
equipped with a CCS Type 2 Combo plug.
What else is there to know
about the 2022 Fisker Ocean, besides the US$ 37,499 starting price (before federal
tax credits) or the US$ 379-a-month lease deal? Well, the electric luxury SUV will
come equipped with standard 20-inch alloys while 22-inch rims will be available
as an option.
Inside, there’s a 16-inch
portrait-oriented center touch screen and a 9.8-inch digital instrument panel,
complemented by a head-up display integrated into the windshield. Augmented
reality features, haptic touch buttons and immersive digital experiences are
also integrated into the cabin.
Fisker will release more
technical specifications and details on manufacturing strategy at the 2020
Geneva Motor Show in March. Production is targeted to begin at the end of 2021,
with the first high-volume deliveries expected in 2022.
