BMW never offered a Touring version of the M3, and we don’t have much hope this will change in the future despite constant rumors of the Bavarians actually considering an M3 wagon. Those of you who aren’t willing to wait for BMW to make up its mind will be interested to learn someone has already built an F81 M3 Touring. Mind you, we’re not talking about an “ordinary” M3 wagon, but one based on the limited-run F80 M3 CS.
This special car owes its existence to Sander Koelemij, owner and founder of a Dutch aftermarket specialist called Fullcartuning. He accomplished his dream of building an M3 CS Touring by combining the best of both worlds: the performance and exclusivity of the F80 M3 CS sedan with the practicality of the F31 3 Series Touring.
Yes, an actual BMW M3 CS sedan was sacrificed in order for this to exist. Well, “sacrificed” is not exactly correct, because the donor vehicle was already damaged in an accident anyway. Fullcartuning and its partners used only OEM parts to build this one-off BMW M car, including the original 454 hp M3 CS engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, lighting, modules, interior and so on.
The wider BMW M3 CS fenders have been welded to the wagon body, while the rear bumper of the high-performance sedan has been ABS welded. The owner chose to finish the car in a striking Fashion Grey paint and fit it with Z-Performance ZP.Forged 9 alloys in Brushed Bronze shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
The world’s first BMW M3 CS Touring had its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show in early December 2019. Chances are it will remain the only one too, unless someone else decides to undertake such a project.
