Damon Motorcycles, based out of Vancouver, Canada, has just announced the specs for its all-electric Hypersport motorcycle, and if they all prove accurate, this bike could give the ICE-powered alternatives something to worry about.

The Damon Hypersport packs a 20 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack and an electric motor delivering 200 HP, roughly the same as what you’ll get from class-leading 1000cc superbikes. That power is reportedly capable of sending the bike to 96 km/h in under three seconds and up to a 320 km/) max speed.


Those aren’t the only impressive figures. Damon says that the Hypersport is good for 323 km of range during highway driving and 482 km of range in the city. As if that wasn’t enough to whet the appetite of enthusiasts, the bike can be fully recharged in less than three hours through a Level 2 charger. It will also weigh less than 226 kg.

It’s not just the Hypersport’s powertrain that makes it special.The company has equipped the bike with a plethora of advanced sensors that monitor objects around the rider and flags possible threats. Should the cameras, radar, and other sensors notice a threat, the driver will be warned through lights in the windshield and haptic vibrations through the grips.


There are no wing mirrors in sight as the Hypersport uses a rear-facing camera that displays what’s going on behind the bike on the multi-function display. Another interesting piece of tech found in the bike is dubbed ‘Shift.’ This function moves the bike’s windshield, footpegs, handlebars, and seat from ‘sport mode’ to a more comfortable ‘commuter mode’ at the press of a button.

Prices for the Damon Hypersport will start at US$24,995 before EV tax incentives. A limited-run of ‘Premier’ versions with Brembo b rakes, Ohlins suspension, and a single-sided swingarm made from carbon fiber will start at US$ 40,000, with its production being capped at just 25 units.
