The owner of the off-road-inspired Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Inferno 4×4*2 got in contact with us and shared images of the finished SUV. All it takes is a cursory look to understand that it is no ordinary GLE. Most notably, it has been adorned with an aggressive bodykit that includes flared front and rear wheel arches, distinctive side skirts painted yellow, a yellow rear diffuser and a yellow skid plate up front.

From there, things get even wilder. Dominating much of the front end is a bold matte black bull bar and a winch. Mounted to the roof is a large luggage rack complete with an exceptionally bright LED light bar that could probably illuminate a big forest and works in conjunction with four spotlights located up front. Rounding out the obvious modifications is a set of bespoke wheels with off-road tires and a full-size spare at the rear.

When we first saw images of the GLE in question, it was painted white. Since then, it has been re-finished in a stealthy shade of matte grey, most likely a wrap, and a look at the license plates reveals that it is registered in Spain.

We believe the SUV started out life as either a regular GLE 63 or GLE 63 S model, meaning it uses a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 with either 550 HP and 700 Nm of torque, or 576 HP and 760 Nm if it is in fact an S. It remains to be seen if TopCar did any engine work – and of course we’ve already contacted the owner to find out.
