A new age of Genesis design is upon us thanks to vehicles like the latest G90 as well as the upcoming 2020 Genesis GV80 SUV and the updated G80. This rendering from KKS Studio shows what the sporty G70 could look like if updated using the same styling language.
The most intriguing aspect of Genesis’ new design philosophy is most evident with the GV80 that features a pair of thin horizontal headlights on either side. The G70 pictured features lights just like this although they do feature some curved elements to better suit the sleek bodywork of the Kia Stinger’s posh sibling. Also found on the refreshed G70 is the company’s triangular front grille and, if you look closely, split taillights very similar to the headlights.
We happen to think that the current Genesis G70 looks superb and, as it has only been two years since it was unveiled, we’re confident we’ll be able to enjoy the looks of it for a couple more years before it is facelifted.
In range-topping guise, the current G70 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 delivering 365 hp and 510 Nm of torque. That’s enough grunt to send the sedan through to 100 km/h in an impressive 4.5 seconds. Should customers not need so much performance, a less powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 hp and 353 Nm of torque is also available.
