Roush Performance is giving its Stage 2
Mustang major upgrades for the 2020 model year. The package gains a new aero
kit, upgraded MagneRide suspension, new FlowForm wheels, and two new
performance packages. Styling-wise, the redesigned Roush R9 Aero Body kit
sports a new functional front fascia as well as heat-extracting hood and fender
vents to decrease engine and driveline temperatures.
The Roush-designed Matte Black FlowForm
20-inch wheels are also new for 2020 and come wrapped in Ultra High-Performance
Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Finally, the refreshed interior
features premium black leather with race-inspired stitching and American flag
accents on the front seats.
When it comes to hardware, the 2020 Stage
2 Mustang features a standard Roush-calibrated MagneRide suspension. The
aftermarket specialist says it provides a “highly adaptive ride with responsive
handling and comfort that can quickly transition from daily driving comfort to
confident corner-craving at the racetrack.”
Customers can choose two new performance
option packages for the 2020 Roush Stage 2 Mustang: the Competition and Podium
packages. The former includes the Roush Active Exhaust System, Engine Bay
Styling Package, locking lug nuts and a custom Roush car cover.
As for the Podium Package, it tries to
lure track-day enthusiasts with additional features to the Competition Package.
Those include upgraded Brembo brake pads and rotors and the Roush Stage 2
Cooling Package (engine and transmission coolers).
The list of optional extras also comprises
Roush Forged wheels with an exclusive design in a Gloss Gunmetal Grey finish; X
or H-pipe exhaust upgrade; Premium Interior Package with custom-designed Roush
leather seats available in Amaretto or Black; the Engine Bay Styling Package;
and a Convertible Style Bar. The 2020 Roush Stage 2 Mustang starts at US$ 12,995
above the price of the base Ford Mustang GT.
